Research Centre for Economic and Monetary Policy – Centro Studi di Politica Economica e Monetaria (Cespem) «Mario Arcelli» is a research centre of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore located in Piacenza. Since its foundation, in 2005, it has promoted the economic research with a particular attention for young economists and in collaboration with the Department of Economic and Social Sciences (DISES) of the UCSC.

Since 2005 Cespem organizes every year the «Arcelli Lectures», a conference where European and international academics and policy makers present essays on the most relevant policy issues.
Since 2007 Cespem organizes the «Workshop sull’economia solidale» (Workshop on economics of solidarity) an event mainly focused on economic inclusion, where economists and social operators have the opportunity to discuss together the theoretical features and the practical organization of all the forms of economic institutions and economic activities whose target is not exclusively the profit. Many of the works and essays presented and discussed at the conferences and workshops organized by Cespem have been published in the peer-reviewed series «COLLANA CeSPEM – Mario Arcelli» and «LEZIONI MARIO ARCELLI».

Cespem is directed by Prof. Francesco Timpano, full professor of Economic Policy at the UCSC.
